Sebastian’s Navarro Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu School Earns Gold

Navarro Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu School in Sebastian had two athletes secure several wins at the esteemed Jiu-Jitsu American National Championship in Las Vegas, Nevada. Displaying fierce competition at this annual championship; the athletes returned victoriously with an impressive tally of two golds, two silvers, and a bronze medal.

The school’s professor, Hemerson Ricardo Navarro, a veteran instructor with more than four decades of experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo, and his pupil, Dustin Kray, took part in three diverse categories of the championship: Gi (competing in uniform), No-Gi (competing in regular clothing), and Absolute (open to competitors from all weight classes).

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, commonly known as BJJ, is a martial art and combat sport that originated in Brazil. It focuses on ground fighting and grappling techniques, making it an effective self-defense system and a popular choice for mixed martial arts competitions. It emphasizes leverage, technique, and strategy, allowing smaller individuals to overcome larger opponents through efficient use of body positioning and submissions.
